Open Door products and Leopard
We expect the next couple weeks to be pretty busy ones, both from the point of view of the subject of this blog (“Internet security for your Macintosh”) and from the point of view of Open Door products. The cause of all this busy-ness is of course the imminent availability of Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). As we’ve been hinting, Leopard will bring with it a number of new and improved networking and Internet security features and issues. So stay tuned for a lot more on those.
As far as our security products are concerned, we wanted to let everyone know that we expect to have Leopard-updated versions of them all in the very near future. We just need a little time to obtain and evaluate the official shipping version of Leopard, just in case Apple has changed anything at the last minute.
For the time being, there are no major bugs or security holes that we’re aware of with the current products on Leopard. They may not fully protect, describe or provide advice for some of Leopard’s new networking features, but they should continue to work and should not interfere with Leopard networking operations.
And of course anyone who purchased any of these products recently (in fact any time this year) will receive a free upgrade to the new versions once they’re available. And that availability should be real soon now. So stay tuned for that too.
